A resin-bound driveway offers a smart, durable and permeable alternative to tarmac, block paving or concrete. It’s laid as a mix of natural aggregate stones bound with a clear resin, creating a smooth, seamless surface that comes in a wide range of colours and finishes to suit your property. We install new resin-bound driveways from the ground up, including proper preparation of the sub-base, which is essential for a long-lasting result.

Why Choose Resin-Bound

Resin-bound surfacing is permeable, meaning rainwater drains through it naturally rather than pooling on the surface, which can help with SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage System) compliance. It’s also low-maintenance, resistant to weeds, and available in a variety of aggregate colours to complement your property.

How Installation Works

A typical installation starts with excavating and preparing a stable sub-base, since this is what the finished surface relies on for its strength and drainage. A binding course may be laid depending on ground conditions, followed by the resin-bound wearing course – the aggregate and resin mix – which is applied and trowelled to a smooth, even finish. Depending on the size of the driveway and the weather, installation of the wearing course itself is often completed within a day or two, though full preparation and curing can take longer.
